Rauch Vagner and I went to Rauch, this town of about 10,000 people out in the Pampas, about 300km south of Buenos Aires. We went with a friend and coworker who is from the town. Over the holidays it's common for college students to return to their families. Every January 2nd, there's a big party in the balneario on the outskirts of town for all the local high school graduates. Each class groups around it's own bbq pit and roasts a lechon. People show up at noon and stay all day and all night drinking and dancing.
