Gay Pride 2007
I have this annual tradition of photographing a group of friends who dress up every year for Gay Pride in New York. This year I flew out there just for the occasion and, like last year, rented a couple of expensive lenses to document the whole thing.

Above is the whole group posing just before embarking to crash the parade.

Jesse as Flaming Queen

Jesse, Cool Dan and and Rachel as Queens of the Jungle. Cool Dan had a broken foot so he "marched" this year's parade in a wheel chair.

From the lefth: Shaniabear as Trashy Queen, Michael as Anita Seatbelt - aka Lady Die, Sexy Dan as the Queen of Pop, Jesse as Flaming Queen and Bam Bam as Queen Bee

Javier as Queen of the Damned gets his hair done by Harrison

Anita Seatbelt - the Would-be Queen

Shaniabear as Trashy Queen

Cool Dan and Rachel as Queens of the Jungle. They're like some crazy mix of Tarzan, Kiss and Captain & Tenille.

I put up nearly 100 photos from the parade. Derek, the groups Videographer, has put up a YouTube Page of Queen Clips.

Also, please check out Jesse's amazing Blog, Jesse on the Brink.

This is the fourth year I've documented the group's antics. See also: 2003, 2004 and 2006

2005 I was in Sao Paulo.

I went fishing today with some colleagues. I caught a fish. A first. More on flickr.

The Oleander in the San Joaquin Valley is in full bloom. There are still a few streches of 99 where it hasn't been ripped out to make room for more lanes.

Dinuba Car Show
Dinuba, the small town in the San Joaquin Valley where my mom grew up, where my aunt still lives, and where I spent this last weekend was host to their 15th annual car show. The normally moribund downtown was abuzz with activity and Mom commented that it felt a little like her high school years when the kids would drag main on Fridays in a '56 Bel Air slightly less pimped out than the one pictured above.

Breakfast at Val's Diner in Dinuba.

A grassy ridge at Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve on a hot, late spring afternoon.

On the way down Page Mill Rd. my friend Michael dangled his arm over the side of the car and took this while we went around a curve. This picture has a certain stock-photography quality to it. Let me know if you want to license it.

Brunch at the St. Regis in San Francisco and the view from a suite on the 10th floor, both courtesey of my friend Steven who was visiting this weekend from New York.

A bacon-swiss burger at Clarke's in Mountain View. Good but almost $10.
