Hi! Thanks for visiting. I'm an American photographer living in Buenos Aires. These are photos from the blog I kept on my site from 2003 to 2009. I now have redesigned the home page to just show a portfolio of my current work. I also blog at BuenosAiresPhotographer.com where I post my baires snapshots.
Gay Pride New York, 2006
The 69th Infantry marching up Broadway. If you're just accessing this page, these are my photos of Gay Pride in New York, June 2006. Specifically the images are of a group of friends who dress up in drag each year and crash the parade. Their theme this year: Iraq:Out.
The group got ready at Ave. D and 6th St., way too far to walk in platform heels. The M14 crosstown bus was the only logical option.
Fallujah Fellatio boards the bus
The drag generated more excitment than odd stares. Only in New York was a phrase I overheard more than once.
A short break in Madison Square before entering the parade
The whole 69th Infantry assembled on the roof for a group photo
The morning rain was intermittent and we tried this Beatles-esque photo on the stairs. This picture would obviously be the 1967-1970 [blue album] version of the stairwell photo.
In the down moments during the set-up spirits were kept high thanks to a steady supply of 1980s power ballads.

Gay Pride New York, 2006 A group of friends put on a truly amazing drag performance each year for Gay Pride in New York. This year there theme was Iraq:Out.
I rented a $1200 wide-angle zoom lens for the weekend and took nearly 1300 photos on Sunday alone (thank god for collapsing memory card prices).
I will be posting photos from the parade all week. Here then, is the first batch; getting ready...
Banana slug in Big Basin
Some ferns, also at Big Basin. If you are ever in the Bay Area and are up for a strenuous hike, the 10 mile loop to Berry Falls along the Skyline-to-the-sea trail and back along the Sunset trail is my favorite hike in the entire region
Me in front of Berry Falls at Big Basin State Park. My friend Robert did an excellent job taking this picture. As you can see, I got my hair cut short.
More minature golf. It's such an easy target for photoblogging. This last photo I think I tweaked a little too much in photoshop, but hey, it's blue astro-turf.
Minigolf!
Capriciously, on the suggestion of a friend, I went miniature golfing at Golfland, USA on El Camino & Wolfe in Sunnyvale. It's Tuesday. It's Sunnyvale. Why not?
My first cellphone, a Nokia 8290, purchased in March of 2001. My mom still uses this phone. It's small, light and indestructible. I've been shopping for cellphones recently and I've concluded that it's impossible to get a phone like this anymore. Actually, the Nokia 1100 comes pretty close but most are sold in India or at Wal-Mart as pre-paid phones. If Cigular will give me a $150 phone for free, why can't I get a $100 rebate on a $50 phone?
I saw a rack of Havaianas with flags from different countries, in addition to the usual Brazil. I couldn't resist buying one with the US flag. They must be a special World Cup series. Most shocking of all, they had a pair with the flag of Argentina. I betcha they ain't selling that one in Brazil.
Downtown San Francisco taken from Twin Peaks. My friend Sam graciously lent me his lensbaby, which I used to take this picture on my canon SLR. It's this plastic, toy lens that allows you to selectively focus on certain parts of the scene. Here's a whole flickr set devoted to lensbaby pics. It's cool at first but quickly seems gimmicky.
More delicious food at Gayle's Bakery-- a polenta cake with garlic bread, a white chocolate chip cookie and something called a "crocodile". Random Linkage: Rolf Potts interviews Peter Hessler on his book, Oracle Bones, which is about contemporary China. Hessler's earlier book, Rivertown, was about his teaching English for two years with the Peace Corps. It doesn't sound like a sexy premise but the book was perceptive and well-written. I look forward to reading his new one. He's also a staff writer for the New Yorker. I've always enjoyed his articles. Unfortunately the New Yorker's website is utter crap but a google search turns up several of his articles and more online interviews.
Hi. I'm a 33 year-old American currently living in Buenos Aires. Before that I lived in California, Sao Paulo and New York and if you browse through the archives below you can see photos of all those places. Currently I'm posting most of my pictures on BuenosAiresPhotographer.com. I also have an old geocities page with some outdated information but also more photos of Buenos Aires, friends and my 9/11 pictures.
