Hi! Thanks for visiting. I'm an American photographer living in Buenos Aires. These are photos from the blog I kept on my site from 2003 to 2009. I now have redesigned the home page to just show a portfolio of my current work. I also blog at BuenosAiresPhotographer.com where I post my baires snapshots.
Me and Jean Denis on our way to a friend's 30th birthday party whose theme was 'wild' (I was Wild West and Jean Denis is just plain wild). This photo was on the metro where we received lots of stares, smiles, giggles, and good natured encouragement. Luc also came and snapped away with his camera. Luc's photos are on his blog.
Not that vanity is ever far from the posts of this blog, but, bringing it a bit more to the front, here I am in from of the Palace in Luxembourg Gardens in Paris on a rare, snowy day.
Some of the fantastic medieval statuary at Chartres Cathedral.
Bryan at Luc's place. My visit to Paris seemed to consist of drinking tea in a sucession of small apartments.
Bryan and Luc on the street in Le Marais. From Cologne I few GermanWings to Paris (34 euros) to visit my friends Jean Denis & Luc. Bryan, a New York friend in Europe for a few months flew in to meet up as well. Bryan and Luc both have blogs from which the week is well documented (they're also not nearly as behind as I am)
A detail from The Arrest of Christ by a 15th century Master of Karlsruhe at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne. Quentin Tarantino eat your heart out.
Cologne Cathedral. Beyond Huge. I see they're cleaning it in sections. For me the black soot is essential to its domination of the city skyline.
A path leading down the mountain into Heidelberg. I saved two euros and gained a nice hike down by only buying a one-way ticket up the funicular.
The Battle at the Issus by Albrecht Altdorfer at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. From Dublin I flew Ryanair to London (23 euros) where I spent six fun but photographically uninspiring days. From there I flew EasyJet to Munich (34 pounds) and saw their generally excellent painting museums (courtesey of the Bavarian Royal Family). There were enough Rubens to choke an army of horses. More interesting were these 16th century battle scenes like something out of a Mel Gibson movie.
Celtic cross gravestone at Glendalough. I saw this on a 24euro mini-van daytrip from Dublin. I don't normally go for this style of travel but short of renting a car it was my only option for seeing Wicklow County.
Loch Tay in Wicklow County. The beautiful scenery starts just south of Dublin.
My friend Marcos gets a free rental car every weekend. We drove up to the coast of Northern Ireland and back in a day. 600km seemed reasonable to us, coming from countries of wide open spaces and long distances.
Hi. I'm a 33 year-old American currently living in Buenos Aires. Before that I lived in California, Sao Paulo and New York and if you browse through the archives below you can see photos of all those places. Currently I'm posting most of my pictures on BuenosAiresPhotographer.com. I also have an old geocities page with some outdated information but also more photos of Buenos Aires, friends and my 9/11 pictures.
