Taxis in Mexico City are Volkswagen Beetles painted green and white. They're called "bochos" [bugs] by the locals. They have kind of a bad reputation for robberies and whatnot but I just think they're so cute. This picture is of a matchbox toy taxi. Mexico City is big but not the biggest city in the world. I've read estimates of the population anywhere between 16 and 30 million. The actual number seems to be around 20 million and, interesting, the net migration trend is away from the city, as noted in this recent article; Chilangos Fleeing DF.
